The United States Patent and Trademark Office is joining the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the History Channel in sponsoring the Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge. This is a new contest that invites the everyday inventor to share their vision and ingenious design with the world. Twenty-five semi-finalists will have the opportunity to be recognized, have their invention exhibited and receive valuable information to help them realize the full potential of their invention.. The most remarkable invention submitted will be named the 2006 “Modern Marvel of the Year.” The inventor will win $25,000 and be featured on the History Channel during a special Invention Week of Modern Marvels programs. The deadline for entry is December 31.
The Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge is a contest that invites the everyday inventor to share his/her vision and ingenious design with the world. Twenty-five semi-finalists will have the opportunity to be recognized, have their invention exhibited and receive valuable information to help them in the pursuit of their invention concept. The most remarkable invention submitted will be named the 2006 "Modern Marvel of the Year". The Challenge celebrates mankind's ingenuity and provides a forum for the independent inventor to be recognized.
The Challenge is named in part for The History Channel signature series, Modern Marvels, and Invent Now and the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation, dedicated to honoring and fostering creativity and invention in people of all ages.
The Modern Marvels series celebrates ingenuity, invention and imagination. The programs tell the fascinating stories of the doers, dreamers and sometime-schemers that created everyday items, technological breakthroughs and man-made wonders. Be inspired. the Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge is an extraordinary opportunity for independent inventors to influence the ever-changing face of invention. Twenty-five semi-finalists will exhibit their invention ideas at a national exposition and will participate in a full day seminar with renowned invention experts. Four finalists will additionally win cash grants and be featured on The History Channel. The 2006 Modern Marvel of the Year winner will receive all the Challenge benefits as well as a $25,000 grant toward making their invention idea a reality.
